Students enjoy locally raised food outside of Nason Hall

Students enjoyed locally raised apples and beef last week during the Vasudha open house. Program Director Dr. Michael Mascarenhas and Program Co-Ordinator David Banks flipped organic turkey burgers and locally raised beef hot dogs as first year Vasudha students met older community members and discussed the possibilities of planting fall crops, taking trips to local parks, and organizing educational events for k-12 students in Troy. This week students will visit the orchard that produced those apples and meet the farmers that are working to build a local agricultural economy in Upstate New York.
